Thanks Mack,

I had no idea he was a reserve.  Any information  I have found about him gives his battalion as the 20th. Would you know when his battalion was sent to France, he was k.I.A. 1st July 1916.

Hi

This link will take you to the 20th Battalion on the main site
he is listed as one of the soldiers killed on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.

Hello Timberman

Thankyou for the link. However, I am still in the dark. Nowhere is the 26th reserves mentioned. It seems very early in the war for a reserve to die in action?
Would he have been a reserve from the beginning of the war? Is there anywhere I can find out when he joined up? I would appreciate any information.
