Title: mystery burial
Post by: mack on June 29, 2019, 04:18:26 PM
theres a photo of the original graves of 2/Lts a.c brook and t.c walker and capt a.c leech, all 1/5th manchesters, ime 99% certain that the graves were actually one grave made to look like three graves, they are practically touching, the grave markers were definitely made by the same person,2/Lt brook is buried between the other two officers, yet he is buried in a different part of redoubt cemetery.

picture of grave
google krithia nullah graves photographic

how did he end up being buried somewhere different from the others

Mack,

All I can suggest is that these graves in the photograph were not the final resting places for these brave soldiers and that the separation took place at a later date when the bodies were moved to the cemetery.  PhilipG.
